Craniosacral Therapy
A gentle yet, powerful treatment for a lifetime of healing - from babies to seniors
The Background & Benefits
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch approach that releases tension deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body performance.

Craniosacral Therapy was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams - or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more.
CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.

By facilitating the body's natural and innate healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventative health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for helping people with a wide range of healthcare challenges associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

"Craniosacral Therapy gave me my life back"
At the age of thirty, I found myself in chronic pain, with countless stress related issues-anxiety, depression, insomnia, spastic colon-I was in complete burnout. I felt hopeless.

Then, I found Craniosacral Therapy.

The healing journey I underwent with Craniosacral Therapy (CST) was holistic and life changing. I soon learned the true depths of CST healing: as it not only helped me with body aches and stress but with childhood injuries and including a very difficult birth!

CST had a huge benefit on my mental and emotional well-being as well. There are three areas of the body/skeleton that when compressed create depression called the 'Triad of Depression' - I had all three. 1) Low back compressed down onto the sacrum, 2) skull compressed down onto the neck, and 3) the sphenoid bone, behind the eyes pushed deep into the head. If you think that sounds like whiplash, you're absolutely right, depression is a very common symptom of head trauma, car accidents, falls on ice, sports injuries etc., This is why getting your children treated is so important as you can save them from so many problems later in life.

Getting out from under the depression and anxiety was life changing for me. If your struggling with either of these, I encourage you to see if there is a structural component to what your experiencing, as it could be life changing for you too.
